Johns Hopkins’ 42nd annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration will take place on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Chevy Chase Auditorium on the East Baltimore campus. In addition to sharing how that experience shaped her life, Dr. Jemison will discuss her current professional and community work, including her mission as leader of the 100 Year Starship project and her efforts to make human space travel to a star possible within the next 100 years.

The commemoration will feature recognition of the 2023 Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Awards honorees for their efforts to improve their communities, and the recipient of the Dr. Levi Watkins Leadership Award.
